E-commerce bookkeeping goes wrong in a specific way: the deposit that hits the bank is net of fees, refunds, chargebacks and marketplace-collected tax, so booking the deposit as revenue understates sales and hides the fees entirely.
What gets tracked
- Marketplace payout reconciliation for Amazon, Shopify, Etsy, eBay and Walmart
- Gross revenue, fees, refunds and chargebacks separated rather than netted
- Multi-channel sales consolidated into one set of books
- Inventory tracking and cost of goods sold by SKU or category
- Landed cost including freight, duty and fulfilment
- Multi-state sales tax preparation, filing and economic nexus tracking
- Marketplace facilitator tax reconciliation
- Payment processor reconciliation across Stripe, PayPal, Square and Shopify Payments
How we work with you
Everything is delivered remotely, so it makes no difference whether you are in Little Rock, Chicago or Sacramento. Bank feeds, cloud accounting and a monthly call are the whole mechanism. Books are kept in QuickBooks Online or Xero — whichever suits the business — and payroll, sales tax and 1099 filings are handled in every state you operate in.
Common questions
Why is my revenue wrong in QuickBooks?
Almost always because marketplace deposits are being booked as revenue. The deposit is net of fees, refunds and tax the marketplace already collected. Splitting that out is the first fix.
Do I owe sales tax in states I have never been to?
Possibly. Crossing a state’s economic threshold creates an obligation without any physical presence. We review your sales by state and tell you where you stand.
Can you handle inventory?
Yes — tracked to cost of goods sold so your gross margin is real rather than a plug figure at year end.
